Join the Academy of the Lost Arts for the first Bushcraft at the Brewery as young explorers discover one of the most exciting outdoor skills, building shelters!
Through fun, hands-on activities, participants will learn how people throughout history have used natural materials to create safe, comfortable shelters in the outdoors. Working together, kids will explore different shelter designs, experiment with natural building materials, and discover what makes a shelter sturdy, weather-resistant, and comfortable.
Along the way, we'll talk about wildlife, forests, teamwork, problem-solving, and the incredible ways people have learned to live alongside nature.
No experience is necessary, just bring your curiosity and a willingness to build!
Participants will learn:
How to choose a good shelter location
Basic shelter-building techniques
How leaves, sticks, and other natural materials can provide protection
Teamwork and creative problem-solving
How shelters have been used by people throughout history
This program is designed for children ages 5–18, with activities adapted to different age groups. Parents are encouraged to stay, relax, and enjoy Flood Zone Brewery while their young adventurers explore.
